I am not afraid of gettings shots (or tooth extractions). my mom said I'm braver than my two brothers

anyone else not scared of getting shots? like when you're about get one, you aren't all panicky and scared? I do get a little nervous, but never really scared

I used to be afraid of getting shoots and then I had to start getting them for my allergies and not I am going to a phlebotomist next year.

I hate them >< I always end up like..dizzy or passing out, but then again that's because I worry and work myself up. It's the same with doctors and dentists. I get regular blood tests (anemia) or the HPV jab (three times at school). I hate them overall :P

Sticking needles into people will hopefully be part of how I earn my money; I don't see the point in being afraid to have something done to yourself that you will be doing to other people. Ergo, they don't really bother me at all.

I'm getting my blood taken once every couple of months and they take between 3 and 7 tubes. If I had a problem with them, I'd have had a heart attack by now.

Plus I had a trans-jugular liver biopsy, and am going to med school (eventually) so I kind of can't let anything phase me.

I hate getting my blood drawn, i have to get it done once a month... I'm starting Accutane, and it fucks with your liver, so we have to keep a eye on the levels.

I'm not really scared of shots...anymore. I used to be. Since then, I've started getting B12 injections and really don't mind getting other shots, either (like flu, tetanus, etc.)

I hate getting blood drawn, however.

I don't mind shots especially for the flu and other type shots that use a small needle. I have had an IV before and that was a big needle that went into my arm and into my vein. One time when I was getting an IV, the nurse missed my vein the first time and had to do it again. That wasn't fun.

Needles, drawing blood, IVs, etc. are all nothing of which I've ever been afraid. I don't really understand the fear either... mind over matter.

One time I had to get an ingrown fingernail trimmed though, and needed anaesthesia... going in through the side of the finger didn't work so the doctor had to inject it through my fingertip. Most painful half second ever until the anaesthetic kicked in, let me tell you.

I never have, its just like a "lets get this stupid thing over with" type of thing, i dont really care about it.

I was until the last few months. I've gotten so many injections, be it my IV for surgery (the had to do it twice), immunisation for Swine Flu, and the million local anaesthetics I got for my dental work, it's just another occurrence for me. The last injection I got, my exact words just before were: "HIT ME" xD

I freak out when I have to get shots...when had to drop pants for some shots to go to Africa I almost said forget it, I'll just stay home. But got it over with, now just have the trip to look forward to.
