free virus check

ok so my computer probably has a virus or something. it runs sooo slow. does anyone know and use a free virus checker so i can see if i have one. i need a REAL one, not one that pretends you have a virus so you buy it. thanks

For Windows (http://www.microsoft.com/security/malwareremove/default.aspx): This one comes directly from Microsoft itself and will dectect and remove viruses for free.

I couldn't find a good one for Mac, except Norton, and they are a serious pain in the ass.

Try avast free version and also malwarebytes anti malware and also spybot search and destroy, those should work for you :)

for mac this isn't really a need for one, I'm now going to sit here and wait for someone to say it gets virus, what ever. But you'll find there aren't many, sept norton trying to make money left right and center

Microsoft Security Essentials is apparently the best free one you can get right now. I use it on my laptop, and I love it.
