"CHICAGO -- Organizers expect 60,000 spectators at Soldier Field Saturday evening for the opening ceremonies of the seventh Gay Games.
The Olympic-style ceremonies include an athletes' procession and welcome from Chicago Mayor Richard Daley. They also include more than 400 dancers and a 500-member Ceremonies Chorus. The Gay Games are open to gay and straight participants. About 12,000 athletes are expected to compete in 30 sports, including track, swimming, same-sex figure skating and country dancing.
The games are held every four years. The last event was held in Sydney.
More than 300 sponsors have lined up for the Gay Games.
The enthusiasm signals that corporate America is opening its eyes to this lucrative but once-taboo consumer sector."

whats the point of having gay games if its also open to straight people? its like me saying that we will have the australia games, but anyone in the usa can enter as well. how stupid is this (by the way there is no australia games, that was just an example).
