I joined both Facebook and Twitter very much impressed, but have over the past while become severely disappointed in both.

There once was a time on Facebook where people didn't clog up status feeds with random pointless information (the kind of content that Twitter is usually criticized for), and create hundreds upon thousands of groups and pages that are nothing but blatant junk - the prime example being the 'become a fan if you want to see this pic!!!!' sort. I originally stayed a member not to play the games or any of those other entertainment features, but because I felt that the multitude of common-interest groups were bustling with insightful and mature discussion that oftentimes are difficult to find elsewhere. These seem to have virtually disappeared today.

All the more, when I first joined Twitter, I found its trending topic feature a very useful way to keep updated with global current events, real-time - and that is a large part of why I stayed. That too is very rarely the case today, as the trending list seems to be constantly dominated by sports and celebrity news, as well as very much pointless hash-tag topics such as "#threewordsduringsex"

It is all quite unfortunate to me.

I use Twitter. I mainly use it for celebrities, friends, and people I meet online that I enjoy communicating with. I'll tweet the odd thing, but not that often.

I use twitter to follow big companies like Asus or Microsoft or EA to see when new products come out or new updates to programs and games. I also follow a news reporter person because they tweet the big news. Otherwise I dont follow anyone individualy.

in my opinion, twitter is just for basic social networking. if youre looking for something simple to use just for status updates and messaging and to talk to people, then twitter is the site for you. if you want to go all out with chat, messages, games, apps, fan pages, etc etc, facebook is just a URL away.

I absolutley love Twitter. If you use it properly it can be very entertaining.

Interacting with people, Trending topics, news.
You just have to persist. I remember, I joined - posted my first update and thought "this. Is. Bullshit.", but I started getting followers and following people, getting replies... And it suddenly become a really fun thing to do.

Once you start making actual friendships on there it becomes even funner.

Twitter is great its easy to use and a great way to find people who share the same interests as you do.
Also i find it a good source of info, i meen i get all the football news from all the tabloids and stuff under one site. and its just so much more nice then facebook somehow,dispite the "i just went to get some chips" people

It's more or less for people who are famous or have fans.So i'm not an actor...yet. But i still hate it.
