Hi. My name is Ashley and I have a question: When am I old enough to wear a thong? I am currently 14 years old and my sister says I am not old enough yet.

I don't think that there is a specific age to wear a thong. I guess where you're sister maybe getting at is she may think it's just not appropriate age yet.

Well there is no age limit. Plus hun, thongs are no big deal, they aren't that great. I have them and I don't really wear them often. Unless it's an outfit that totally calls for it lol! It just all depends on your family values and such. So if your mom or sister say you aren't old enough, I guess you aren't. I don't know what else to say.

I started wearing thongs when I was 11...when I wear underwear (which isnt very often) it is either a thong or a gstring...thats it like other people said if YOU feel comfortable with it go for it!

I must say it's your life; you must be comfortable with doing thing you would like to do within limits. I understand your sisters point of view on saying your too young. Frankly their underwear; however not so recently ago thongs were actually considered for girls who flaunted themselves. Some people haven't moved past the ages of this. I'm not saying this is how your sister thinks but maybe she feels this way?? You can't really put an age on it but if you wanted to be on the safe side I'd go with 16. By all means you can also just explain to your sister their simply comfy and I would enjoy wearing them, so personally im going to wear them. Just a couple of suggestions :)

Age doesn't matter when it comes to underwear, at least I think so. For me, thongs feel better to wear. The first time I wore one it sucked, but after a couple of times, it felt better than regular underwear.

To tell you the truth, it really depends how mature you are ( mentally ) to start wearing one, Like your sister wouldn't want you running around telling everybody. I'm 13 and my best friend and I went out and bought Our own on our bikes. I do the laundry in my house , so it's not a problem and no one knows, or you could just hand wash it c(=
Maybe your sister just doesn't think your ready, and if you are, you need to tell her you are.

i think you are old enough because i started wearing them when i was 13 but they were uncomfortable, it is upto you. all u have to do is try them if they are okaii wear them but if they feel weird and uncomfortable just dont wear one.

but i remember there were quite a few girls wearin thongs when i was 14.

i can guarentee all the adult women i know would say 18. why? the raw sexuality of a thong. thongs are just.... supposed to be about sex! thats why strippers were them!

My "official" (parent-friendly) answer is that it's up to the people in charge of you, either your parents or older sister. Thongs are sexier, so if your sis or parents don't want you looking sexy yet then you'll either have to figure out a way to wear them without being caught, or just give it more time 'till you're older. Luckily for me my parents don't care lol
