I just had a thunderstorm come through and i took a video of the lightning and i got this still! tell me what you think!

i could have edited it to make it look a little cooler. but i don't like editing photo's of nature

Did you just take the one picture and get lucky with the timing, or did you take a burst of pictures to make it more likely to get something good?

It is very difficult to make still picture of storm.
For that you need tripod and (like) profi camera.
Here you make a great Job,taking picture from video.
Maybe yo need take it in PhotoShopp to blur some part of sky,but it is Ok.
I know how difiocult is makong storm pic`s.
