rep problem

hi, i have a problem with my rep. it says my rep is 0, meenwhile when i go to my CP it says i have 7 positive rep and 2 negative. why wont my rep show up under my name?

You have negative rep... Look at your rep points, your in the negative. You see where my blocks are green, and yours is red? It's because you have -rep. When you have positive you will have green, and +points.

It's because of your rep points. Even if there is only two negative reps, it could have come from someone with a lot of rep which lowers it more than the positives do.

Say User A has 40 rep points and neg reps you.
Then User B has 20 rep points and positive reps you.

A+B
-40+20= still -20

That is why you are in the negative and at 0

Just because 7 people have given you positive rep doesn't mean that the points they gave to you was enough to counterract the negative rep from the two.

What most likely happened was 2 members with a large amount of rep power gave you negative rep say...it totaled to -100. And those other 7 people contributed positive rep that totaled 75 points.

You still have -25 points which means that you are in the red which is why your rep block is red

Yeah, it depends on who it's from.
Those positives are probably worth only 1- 5 points.

When someone neg reps you, i think its one half of what their rep is, is deducted from yours.
So, if someone with 50 rep power gives you neg rep, 25 points are deducted.

So someone with a large number of rep probably gave it to you. Seeing that those positives are outweighed by the negatives.

ooo i thoug my rep would be 5 because i have 7 pos and 2 neg. i didnt know it went by who reped you and how much they have. that makes alot of sence. thanks guys :D
