I have looked everywhere and everything seems to different.
Some say that it is anything that causes deliberate damage to ones self, however another say something like harming ones self to make a mark that lasts longer than a day or something like that.
I know that it is hurting yourself but is there anything else.

I consider it self harm if it is done with the intention to harm oneself.

It doesn't have to leave a mark.

Ok, another question guys!
Do the terms mean different things,
- Self harm - Anything to do with harming yourself in anyway?
- Self injury - causing physical damage to yourself?
- Self mutilation - Mutilating yourself :P Like excessive piercing and that creepy tongue thing?
SO yeah wondering :L x

Self harm and self injury is the same, self mulitating, is like.. Well mulitating your body for pain, maybe getting loads of piercings and tattoos would cover that. They all basically mean the same thing, "harming ones body"
Self harm can take many different forms and as an individual act is hard to define. However in general self harm (also known as self injury or self mutilation) is the act of deliberately causing harm to oneself either by causing a physical injury, by putting oneself in dangerous situations and/or self neglect.
