More Quick Styles!

So far, most of the styles of the forum are pretty boring and cheap-looking (no offense)

Is there anyway we can have more styles?

I'm not a big fan of having a lot of styles because its more work for me. I think we have a good range of style colors to appeal to different tastes. Readability and usability are far more important than flashy busy designs.

Maybe if enough people want to add a new style, there could be some sort of contest..
You could have people submit their own styles to a judge, who would then pick out the best 10 or so and post a poll too all of VT asking which one users like best..

Most people on VT attempting to design a new style? That's a fail waiting to happen to be honest.
Last I checked, making a new style involves some 50+ individual graphics. Good luck finding someone on VT willing to make that.

In response to the first post- actually, no, VT's styles don't look "cheap." In fact, they look more professional. Sites with flashy, over-the-top layouts not only look unappealing to people who participate in many forums, but they also look amatuer-ish at best.

Vt doesn't need any more styles anyway.
If you have some ridiculously colourful and bright style then it just looks shit. Plus it can distract you from the threads if the colours all around are really bright.

Then again, Black and Gold is too much for me. Forever Blue ftw :)

Yeah. I've been on a forum (which has been closed) that tried the flashy styles, it really wasn't a good idea.

I totally agree not it being flashy like who would want glittering texts everywhere. I Mean even an improvement on the current quick style. A monochromatic quick style with intricate patterns like damask or something would be okay. Something like tumblr themes (if you've ever been blogging). They're minimalistic and simple but they look modern and not cheap. These are a few examples.

I mean like suggestions for improvements are fine. Like the "forever blue" banner. I mean seriously? Papyrus font? And the boxes could be edged out or something. Also the font of the "home / community and forum / ...." can be changed to a better one. The Silver blue looks forensic-ish, the black and gold is ok but the banner could be a lot better. The Vbulletin is too plain. I'm just making suggestions. Hope my examples show you what i'm talking about.
