There once was a man who was young in his years
He dreamt up the stories of everyone’s fears
Kidnaps and killings, Robbings and Rapes
He dreamt of them all without an escape
Late in the night he would wake with a fright
His clock struck the noon that lacks all day’s light
Tossing and turning, with much sweat on his brow
He dreams other’s dreams but he doesn’t know how
As the days keep passing the nightmares get worse
He is put in the place of that dead women’s hearse
Through all of these eyes he sees such a fate
That no one would wish upon any one’s date
This man is a boy just like others, the same
Yet this young man his dreams, are not of the tame
He sees and hears all their fears and their screams
Watching first person as they rip out their seams
Each night he will wake until time meets his mind
This Midnight dreamer can never leave this hard bind
He’ll live through his dreams and the nightmares of day
Feeling pain and the fear for which none will pray
He takes none upon to notice his trouble
Moving on in his days never taking a double
And a legend he’ll be with his stories of seizure
Dreaming on into night is The Midnight Dreamer
He dreamt up the stories of everyone’s fears
Kidnaps and killings, Robbings and Rapes
He dreamt of them all without an escape
Late in the night he would wake with a fright
His clock struck the noon that lacks all day’s light
