Twinkle Twinkle, Bitter Star

Once upon an awful night
I wished upon a darkened star
That would lead me to where you are
But that broken star could not travel so far

Star light, Star bright
First star, I see tonight
Won’t break, to morning light
Leaving us, in a fright

Wish I may, wish I might
Bring you back to life tonight
But a wish gone wrong can hurt us all
And life won’t be the same for long

This wish I made, I should have stopped
That shooting star was like a hawk
Circling the night and waiting for prey
I have called an evil to this day

All I wanted was to have you back
For your life to be in tact
Sadly though to my dismay
Even living it’s not this way

They have you back now
My wish came true
It was at a price
That I never knew

Back in the world you’re allowed to be
I gave you a chance to once more be free
The price was simply you could not see
I’ve lost you now and it’s let me be

That star was black, cold as ice
Twisting my wish into its own device
So that in this life you are fine
Now I’m gone, you’re no longer mine

Star light, star bright
First star, I see tonight
I wish I may, I wish I might
Have this wish, I wish tonight

If only this wish, would be bright
I’d have you back, we’d be alright
Please my star, bring me light
I’m begging you, don’t judge so tight
