Hi I'm 15, only had one girlfriend (Didn't work out for other issues) and never kissed at all. I was wondering if I'm the only one who thinks that I don't need a relationship right now, I mean if someone I liked ask me out I would go for it but right now I don't really need a relationship, I've got good friends, great family and I'm happy with my life. Just wondering if anyone else thought this. In short, I'm single and I'm happy.

I also think that.
I am 18, never had a girlfriend. I would probably have a relationship if a girl asked me out, but girls don't do that.
There is a girl that I really like (who is also a good friend), I have liked her for a long time. I would love to be in a relationship with her, but I know I'm not ready. I am going to tell her I like her, but I wont ask her out.

I have been quite a late developer (mentally not physically), where I find it strange how many of my friends and other people my age are having relationships, having sex, driving, getting drunk, smoking. I feel like I should not be 18.

If I just wait, im sure a girl will come along eventually.

steve1234, you put it wonderfully. :)

See, I'm almost 18, but I'm happy being single. I've never had a girlfriend or boyfriend (I'm bi), and I'm fine with that. Two months ago I told someone that I liked them and got rejected, but we're still friends. And I'm totally fine with that. :)

I couldn't agree more with you guys.

Too many teens these days are feeling like they HAVE to be in a relationship, when, honestly, they're not ready to be committed to it.

I've been in many relationships before, and to tell you the truth, I'm perfectly content being single. Would I get with a guy if he asked me to? Mabye. But for now I feel no need to be in a relationship.

I love threads like this. Happily single for life; there is a huge world out there waiting for us to explore and appreciate. Life is much more than just one other person and everything related to their presence.

At 15 years old, do you really expect any kind of relationship like that to last?

once again, i totally agree. i'm 16 and never had a boyfriend, never been kissed (which is ironic because i think i'm the only one at my school who actually was sweet 16 never been kissed). i'm not saying all, but what do the majority of teenagers know about love anyway? you see these people and they are all like "baby, i love you forever and ever" and then 3 weeks later they've broken up. like i said, not ALL teens are like that.
i think that love is a very powerful word and should be reserved for when you truly need it. if you keep throwing it around then when it comes time to say it for real, it wont mean anything to you or your significant other.
Also, by looking at the people i know and the relationships they're in...its too expensive and i'm 'poor' :(

Nothing wrong with that, you've got other social relationships, you're happy, you're set for the time being, so I see nothing wrong with that.

It's perfectly fine to not want a relationship now. I personally don't think I (or MOST other teens) are ready for that type of responsibility. And after seeing all the ups and downs with my brother's half a million "girlfriends", I'm not sure I'm quite ready to commit to a relationship... I do really like this one girl right now.. but I plan on waiting awhile..

I Feel the same way. I have never had a Girl friend. I've been Trying, but I'm thinking Let nature takes its Toll.

It's only a trend in today's teenager to have a girlfriend or a boyfriend. Personally I was not into any relationship before I turned 20. I was happy without a relationship and even now I am happy when I am in relationship. Though I reckon being alone was more fun.

I happily agree with that.

Very few teenage relationships go anywhere, very very few. I just don't see any point in a relationship at such a young age. At this age, is more of a "hey, I have a girfriend" thing then a love thing. Just wait and save your love for the future.

Same. I really want a relationship but I'm kind of behind mentally as well. It sucks being in an all-boys school as well.

Rayrf, I agree with you there. We, as high-schoolers, don't need to be in a relation ship of that kinda yet..

Dont rush yourself into a relastionship, just to have one. Just find and talk to a girl you thinks nice/pretty and get to know her
