It hit me like a brick. All of a sudden I start to doubt my the sincerity of my relationship with my boyfriend. I cant sleep and feel really down.
I remember about a year ago, my mum wouldnt let me get diet drinks anymore after reports of severe health issues they cause because of a chemical in them called Aspartame.
So I got on the internet and looked at side effects of it. Bearing in mind I dont normally drink much diet coke, but over the last two weeks ive had about a bottle a day, sometimes two. These results stood out to me:

Psychological/Psychiatric
severe depression
irritability
aggression
anxiety
personality changes
insomnia
phobias

Neurologic
epileptic seizures
headaches, migraines and (some severe)
dizziness, unsteadiness, both
confusion, memory loss, both
severe drowsiness and sleepiness
paresthesia or numbness of the limbs
severe slurring of speech
severe hyperactivity and restless legs
atypical facial pain
severe tremors

Gastrointestinal
nausea
diarrhea, sometimes with blood in stools
abdominal pain
pain when swallowing

Skin and Allergies
itching without a rash

Other
frequency of voiding and burning during urination
excessive thirst, fluid retention, leg swelling, and bloating
increased susceptibility to infection

A lot of symptoms. Could the fact that I've had a large intake of Aspartame over the past two weeks be the main cause for these feelings about myself and my relationship?
I'm further lead to believe this because of the other symptoms which are on this list, which are affecting me.

Please help...

PS: Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, but this one seemed more suitable than the general hospital or drugs and meds.

Hun that is not a large dose. In these situations hun i often find that people try and find something to blamme for how they are feeling i doubt what you drink will affect your relationship with your boyfriend imo. But maybe you need to sit down, without looking for excuses and just ask yourself why am i doubting my relationship and you can find your answer in doing that

Thank you for the advice. Things have been cleared up and it was mostly due to the fact that i'm in the middle of exams, very tired and couldnt sleep, so i was worrying about that, and a few hours before we had a disagreement.
Never the less, I'm not touching that stuff again... just incase:whoops:
