So then, I want to get Windows Live Messenger on my Ubuntu laptop (I had to install it over my Vista install which screwed up) but I don't know how. I don't want to use aMSN, Pidgin or any other things like it. Can you get Virtualbox on Linux (you know, those emulators that you can go on other OS's on and stuff)? If so then how? Thanks.

Try Pidgin or Empathy those both work for me.

I use this msn for linux (http://tips-linux.net/en/linux-ubuntu/linux-software/linux-internet/msn-linux) . It worked for me
