i really recommend ubuntu. Its very user friendly, and very stable. Ubunto 9.10 is my favorite because its the most compatible for me. The newest one 10.04 refuses to work with some ofthe stuff on my old laptop, but you might have a hard time finding 9.10.

Install Mac with three partitions so you can triple boot Win 7 mac and your favourite Linux distro. (Install mac first since it's mandatory in the mac installer to format the drive.)
Well, thats what I would do :p

Ok so. I went online shopping, and i dont want to go out and buy something and no know how to do anything, and if you know me well you know that i have shit internet so i cant just google everything. So i brought a book, one of them "blah blah for dummies" books. Which also has CD's with like 8 different versions of different linux os's

Jack.. Ubuntu will ship to your house free (only catch is that it takes 4-6 weeks)...
Or you can download, but that would be rather slow on VirginBroadband.

yeah i know, but i want to learn how to write shit in linux, so i brought the book. I dont mind. Hopefully give me something to read on a flight. It would also use 90% of my downloads to download it.
