View Full Version : Naked in lockerrom?

In one of my classes(JROTC), we have went swimming in my school's pool lately.
You know with how many guys' swim trunks, you have to go nude before you can pull on your swim trunks, unless you want wet underwear? Well we have to get naked in there in front of each other in the pool's locker/changing room. I, personally, am fine with it because we are just changing. It's no big deal. We have now gotten comfortable with each other, so it's not a problem.
But my question is: Why should it be a problem anyway? I mean, all you are doing is changing. It's not like you are rubbing your cocks against each other. What is the problem that some guys are so 'uncomfortable' about it. I can understand the first-time awkwardness, but that should soon subside. Like I said, all guys do in the locker room, or in this case a pool's changing room/locker room thing, is change. That's it.
The only reason why I might can think of is that someone might not be satisfied with their size. But why? Everyone's is different, why make a fuss about it? I do understand that after you swim, especially if the water is cold, that your package gets 'smaller' when it tries to get warmth from your body, but everyone gets that. So why fret?

When I was in MCJROTC in my old school we went on a two week trip to a military base in Virginia we were all freshman and we had to shower together. 3 shower heads 2 guys per shower 2 minutes each to wash up and get out. You had to leave with the person you were with ( he was your bunk mate and we had to stay together at all times no matter what)
Like you said it gets easier with time. But you're surrounded by people you don't know very well and youre doing something that is very different then what you're used to, most kids have private bed rooms with doors and locks and they can get dressed and underessed in total private.
It's the idea of being naked, exposed to everyone around you. And we all know there are atleast a couple wandering eyes out there trying to get a good peek. And it's only natural to be shy.
I miss JROTC.. When I switched schools agian I had to quit the program because the one at this school is a joke :/ it's really a shame. Lots of good memories from JROTC

I think it's because being naked is always potentially sexual.

Everyone's different yes, but that also means that some people do get shy about things like that. It's a personal thing really, everyone must have something they don't like.

People in my school just put a towel around them and stuff.. Though some people then try and pull each others towels down and such so
everyone is really careful tho

I agree with the OP that I dont really understand what the big fuss is about. Its the same in many public swimming pools. Its all just guys, just get on with it.

I train water polo, and we usually use towels to change. The reason for all the fuss about is because some people simply don't want to show their dicks to other people.

Yea, but that isn't the point. The point is, you are changing. That's it. You are showcasing it, just changing.

Im glad my school doesnt do this, or wont ever.
I just dont like it in general, i dont like my body, im very self conscious so it would be very nerve wracking.
However basically all of them would be straight, so its not like i have anything to prove to them , so that might lighten the mood. But still im glad i dont have to do it

I take showers with guys that are really chill, were all really open about like being naked around each other, like the original guy said, it's a matter of doing it often and if with the same people developing the trust that nothin will happen or nobody's gonna judge you because they got they're own schnitzel to worry about...

I think it's embarrasment about size, looks and lack of trust. There are some guys who are generally confident and could walk naked in public but those with lack of self confidence it makes you shy about it and embarrased.

Self consciousness is probably the biggest reason. Some one may be fat or something like that and they don't want people making fun of them. That's the best thing I could thik of.

Okay, here it is. There are a few reasons.
Some guys have a really bad self image and low self esteem; This can hold some guys back in puberty, and being the smallest guy in the room does not help either of those things.
Some guys are just embarrassed; Allot of families bring their kids up to be afraid of being nude around anybody but your wife, so it is a mind thing.
Last, some guys are either curious, bi, or simply gay and don't want to get a hard on around naked guys, because they maybe afraid of a rumor spreading. I would have to say this is what pushed me to change really quick in the locker room, I am curious or bi, so although I have had many girl friends, I am still turned on by guys. Kind of stupid, but everybody has their reasons.
So for some people, who don't fall in any of these categories, it is fine. I still feel like there is still awkwardness but people get comfortable enough with each-other to get over that, and just make the best of the situation.

I've always been one to put myself in other people's shoes. That said, it's easier to change in a locking room knowing that the larger majority of the people you're changing with are in your same boat and are most likely just as shy in the locker room.
The only advice I can offer to anyone dealing with this kind of thing is not to focus too hard on everyone else. Shower, change into your clothes and bounce. If anything attempts to give you shit(which is very unlikely), ask them why they were looking at you and why it interests them so much. That'll be sure to put them on the spot.

Hmmm well personally I am very well-endowed and I still wouldn't feel comfortable changing in front of other people, just too weird.
