Mods, please don't move this to drugs and meds as it pertains to school.

This thread is about adderall use for studying. I posted over in drugs and meds a while back and got some great info, and now i'm wondering how many of you have tried it, heard of it, etc.

With APs going on, i've used it quite a bit. Perhaps more than i would like. Anyone in the same boat?

Disclaimer: I am not condoning the use of adderall. Don't use it without understanding its effects.

Heard of it, know people who've used it.

Never tried it. TBH I don't know where I'd get it [DO NOT POST MEDIUMS TO FIND ADDERALL!!], so i don't see the bother

i have ADD and ADHD. i took Adderal for a few years... it changed me.. all the meds changed me... i stopped sleeping, eating, more depressed more anxious. with sevre anxiety disorder... it worsened everything. doctors dind't know i had anxiety at the time because they just thought it was the meds and ADD until i went to a psycologist. so instead of being uber depressed and having those problems plus it made my heart race, i had to get that monitered for a day because it sped up my heartrate, i decided maybe itwas a good idea to stop. best decision of my life... istopped i'm no longer a robot. i had no emotion on the medication beside anxiousness and depression... there was no happy... it didn't exsist.. yes it did help me focus... but it wasn't worht the grades in the end.. there is no ADD medication i haven't tried without getting bad side effects from it... i've been on meds since like kindergarten and stopped 8th grade year. the only way to get adderal is to be presribed by a doctor. don't take it without side affects and talking to your doctor, because it can seirously affect you..

I would not recommend take that specific medication. I felt like a dog on it. I have ADHD... Completely fucked me up I absolutely could not sleep my mind was racing at a million miles an hour and my flashbacks reoccurred more often on it. That's just my experience on it. Hope this helps

Well hopefully you would use the Adderall only if you have ADD or ADHD.
Adderall should be prescribed and only taken if you genuinely can't concentrate, not just for academic gain to study every now and then.

If you think you have ADD or ADHD then you should talk to your parents to go to the doctor.

I personally am not medicated for any of that and I have never taken it so I cant tell you first hand the effects or if its useful

Sleeplessness, loss of appetite, psychological addiction. You just have to be careful at what times you take it and that you drink lots of water and kind of force yourself to eat. If he's taking it to study, there are few negative side effects. However, if he's snorting it for recreational use, the increased substances that go to the brain probably have a more negative effect over time.
