Hopefully everyone here knows M.I.A right? Well, her new single, Born Free, is an alright song, but the music video is just something else to think about. Before continuing, watch the video. It's graphical. So be warned.

So how is it controversal? It gives a message about genocide and how te government treats certain people. In the music video, they use gingers (red heads) as an example of how the government treats people.

They take a bus full of red heads and bring them to a field or desert however you wish to call it. They basically run for their lives from land mines and the police or whatever you want to call them brutaly beats them.

What if that was you running for your life in a tracksuit? M.I.A, IMO, has done a perfect job in her video getting this message across to people.

One person on YouTube reviews the video and says, "M.I.A kills allthe
music videos out there. This is a music video. This is art.".

The music video has been baned on YouTube but people still post it on there.

The message given in the video, I think this, is how the government, which I mentioned earlier, treats people. M.I.A is basically telling is on how messed up the government and how messed up the world is these days.

If more artists made music videos like this instead of skimpy and ugly girls, drugs, drug dealers, gangs, etc, wouldn't you think it's time for the world to change and eliminate genocide, hatred, discrimination, and war?

Give me your opinions

Its a real message but it was pretty stupid imo...i like it when artists are more subtle about their messages.

I LOVE M.I.A. but the song kinda gave me a headache when it premiered... I think it takes some getting used to. And the video... is controversial.
