so my friend says there is this natural hair dye. doens't damage hair and doesn't how roots because it just fades out after awhile. so my parents said if i find it i can buy it on my own and do it. this excites me :) i'm thinking about dying it red. if i had a choice red or black. but i don't htink my parents would like black... does anyone know about tis natural hair dye stuff? and is red a good color choice, my hair is brown. is it safe to do i myself?

i was also thining about getting colored contacts some point without perscription. does anyone know how much that would cost?

The whole thought of people dying their hair themselves scares me, unless they really know what they're doing.

Always get it done by a professional hairdresser, they're less likely to fuck it up. Hair dyes from shops rarely come out the same colour as they say they will, whereas at the hairdresser's they'll give you the colour - or another very similar colour - to what you want to achieve.

see i would do that, but their stuff isn't natural and extremely over priced also damages your hair unlike the natural stuff... if i brought the naturla stuff to a hair dressser do you think they could do it so i don't skrew it up?

Have you heard of Natural Instincts hair dye? But I also agree with Pandora. About salon dying. i.e. Your hair could turn purple if you tried to dye it brown.

I can honestly say that I've NEVER had this problem...
Also,
$50-100 vs $3-20
[i have found you get what you pay for with dye brands [to a point] though.]

Generally it's safe*. I'd suggest you let a friend do it just because it's easier for them to see what they're doing. You can't always see your own roots until it's too late.

Your hair could turn purple if you tried to dye it brown.
There is one shade of "brown" that on the box CLEARLY SHOWS that it has a very strong redviolet in it. If you can't see that it's a purple color you shouldn't be dying your own hair.

*don't get it in your eyes, eat it, or leave it in longer than the package says
