Question for non-smokers

Non-smokers, my idea is that you consider people who are smokers as bad people, I just want to know am I right ? because the way I see it is that Non-smokers think smokers are bad people and because they may smell of cigarettes (not completley true) and have yellow finger nails (also not true) you think they are bad people ?

Smokers aren't all bad. I've seen the good, the bad, and the ugly come out of smokers. The reason that I view smoking as being bad is more the health risks than yellow fingernails and the smell, which can be easily covered up. I have friends that smoke, heck almost my entire family used to smoke at one point. But smokers being inherently bad people? No.

That's very presumptuous. I don't see smokers as bad people. I think they are making a bad decision by being a smoker, but they are not bad people. The only time I am angry at smokers is when they do it in a manner that disrupts my everyday life such as smoking near me. Its bugs the hell out of me and is rude. Though, if they do it on their own or with other smokers away from people who are bothered by it, I can't really complain.

Smokers arn't all bad people, but when a few of my friends started smoking, I did lose some respect for them. The only reason people start smoking is because they think it will make them look rebellious, but nowadays, people will just think you are stupid. People say smoking relaxes you, but it does the complete opposite. It also makes your breath smell, clothes smell, hair smell, teeth yellow, the list goes on.

One of my friends who is a girl, is incredibly good looking and pretty, so I got very annoyed with her when she started smoking, as those good looks wont look so good in a few years. She is very intelligent, but i'm starting to doubt that since she began smoking.

I don't have anything against smokers and smoking. It's all a matter of personal choice; smoking seems like a pointless activity to me and I don't understand the attraction some people have towards it. The same goes for many other potentially harmful recreational activities that are popular as well.

Smokers often do smell terrible, maybe they dont realise. It doesnt make all smokers bad people but in many cases they are selfish people because they like to impose their habit on other people and dont respect the fact that other people do not wish to be inhaling their smoke.

I don't think they're bad people, I just don't agree with what they're doing. It's horrible for your body. I don't smoke for my own benefits. I don't want to risk getting lung/throat cancer, stained teeth, smelly breath, etc. Plus it smells disgusting and really to me, what's the point?

I don`t consider them as bad people, per se. They simply started something that eased their stress or their friends started and they hurt their bodies and the bodies of others around them. It is a tough addiction to subdue.

Your assuming that people who don't smoke are lead to believe smokers are bad people?
Because of a recreational thing they do, it doesn't reflect their personalities.
I know some people who smoke who are amazingly nice people, actually, one of the best people I know smokes (and is quitting. Again, apparently).
The habit in itself is bad, but it doesn't always reflect the person's quality or personality, that would be exceptionally stereotypical and judgemental for anyone to thing that smokers are stereotypically bad people, like people think that gay people love every guy that walks past them. *facepalms at stereotypes*

I don't smoke and I don't think that smokers are all bad. In fact, my friends do smoke but I don't mind. It's just that I hope they quit soon. :(

Some smokers have bad personalities. Not all though.

I used to smoke, but I gave up long time ago.

The smell of it is disgusting, and also just as (even more so) dangerous than breathing it in from the cig directly anyway, so it's also selfish to smoke around others.

Growing up surrounded by family members that smoke, I don't think smokers are bad people. And why would you anyways? They decided to inhale chemicals that can cause damage to others and themselves, but they still have a personality. That being said, I disagree strongly with smoking, having lost my dad to lung cancer, and I couldn't truly respect someone who did smoke. Smokers are potentially throwing their life away. I wish teens would see what it's like. Smoking isn't cool, it's not bad ass, it's plain stupid. But it's a personal choice and shouldn't have anything to do with the person being "good" or "bad".

I don't think smokers are bad. It really bothers me when they smoke near me because the smell gets on me, second hand smoke kills (no need for me to have black lungs because of another person's decisions) and it makes it rather hard to breathe. Their choice is bad but that doesn't make them bad people.
