This is a story I am writing. I am not done yet, and this is only like the first chapter I have written. Could you guys tell me how you like it so far, and give me good criticism? I'm going to finish the story and post chapters of it in my blog so that if you would like to keep reading it, it will always be there. Thanks guys!
Epilogue
As sixteen year old Charlee turns on her webcam, she reached to grab her bear. If she was going to tell her story, she might as well have her best friend in the world to be there with her. See, Charlee has an important story to tell, and she must do it before next week. If she doesn’t, her secrets will get leaked, and that’s not a risk Charlee is willing to take. She turns on her web cam, and makes the very first entry in her web diary.
Hi. I know many of you are wondering why I am doing a web diary, but it’s the only way my story can be heard. There are people at my school who know my secrets, and they are willing to expose them if I don’t expose them by next week. These are secrets I have been carrying on my back for at least a year now. I can’t keep these things secret anymore. These are things that everyone must know. But I can’t have petty high school girls using my secrets and turning them into jokes. If this story is going to be told, it’s going to have to be told right. I guess I should get started. There’s just to much to say. Let’s start at the beginning of all of this. Let’s go back to the summer before sophomore year.
During the summer, my life all seemed so great. I played soccer, worked out every day, had the best friends and family, and I had a great boy friend that loved me. Then came my fifteenth birthday in July. My plans were to go to the beach with about seven of my friends and just have a blast. But that day became the worst day of my life. My mother and father took us down early in the morning so we could get a good spot on the sand. Robbie, my little brother was supposed to stay at a friends house, but then his friend got sick so he had to come with us. I loved my brother dearly, but this was not a trip I wanted him to go on. We arrived at the beach, and we all took the blankets and cooler down to the sand. My father managed to find us a nice spot right in the middle of the beach that still allowed access to the boardwalk. My friends and I were all ready to hit the boardwalk to grab some boardwalk fries. My mother told me I had to take my brother with me. I was not okay with this plan. We argued about it for five minutes, but then her cell phone started to ring. She stopped fighting with me to answer it. “Hello”, she said into the phone. “Hello, is this Robbie Waters’s mother?” said the voice on the other line. It was our family doctors office. Robbie wasn’t feeling well for the last week, so my mother decided to take him to Dr. Smith’s for a little check up. My brother had been complaining about a stiffness in his neck, and having long-lasting headaches, and also he had chills from time to time. Plus, Robbie was bruising more easily lately. We all figured that maybe it was just because he played soccer like I did and maybe that’s where all of the bruises came from. The doctor recommended that Robbie get blood tests, and other kinds of tests. My mother grew a look of sheer fright on her face. The results were in from all of the tests. “Mrs. Waters, I’m afraid I have some bad news. It seems like Robbie’s tests came back positive for cancer. Now we may have caught it early. I want you to make an appointment with on oncologist to see what he recommends for Robbie.” Said the doctor. My mother burst into tears. She quickly hung up her cell phone to tell us the news. I could tell by my mother’s look that something was not right. “Robbie has cancer” she wailed. Everyone had a look of shock on their faces, including me. Robbie didn’t know what to do so he ran towards our father for a hug. My father didn’t say anything, but by his facial expression, it wasn’t that hard to figure out how he was feeling. “They said they may have caught it early, so maybe he has a chance.” My mother said with a tight smile on her face. I was so utterly hurt and terrified. This is where my life went from great to terrible.
