ok so my girlfriend's glands are swollen on her neck and they are really bothering her. ahead says one minute she feels fine and the next she feels horrible. We don't have health insurance so she won't get checked out but I'm trying to get her to go. I'm worried. If you have any idea what it might be or how to help please pm me or reply. Thanks a lot

Two things came to mind, mumps or glandular fever. She should get it checked.

Hey mate.
So, by swollen glands, I'm sure you mean the lymph nodes in her throat. You would be able to feel them just under your jaw on your neck just before the jaw turns up towards the ear.
Swollen Lymph Nodes: When to Seek Medical Care
Inflamed nodes themselves are generally not a major concern, but if you have symptoms of another condition along with enlarged lymph nodes, consult your doctor.
Call your doctor:
•If the swelling of the nodes lasts for more than two weeks or you have symptoms such as weight loss, night sweats, fatigue, or prolonged fever
•If the nodes are hard, fixed to the skin, or are growing rapidly
•If you can feel swelling close to your collarbone or in the lower part of the neck
•If the overlying skin is red and inflamed and you suspect an infection
The diagnosis of swollen lymph nodes rarely requires emergency hospital treatment. The exceptions to this include a growing infection of the skin that requires treatment, a severely infected lymph node that needs to be drained, or severe pain.
Causes of Swollen Lymph Nodes
Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism
Bulimia
Cancer
Connective Tissue Disease
Gaucher Disease
Hodgkin's Disease
Human Immunodeficiency Virus
Hyperthyroidism
Non-Hodgkins Lymphomas
Sarcoidosis
Sjogren's Syndrome
Stomach Cancer
Strep Throat
Thyroid Cancer
Thyroiditis
Other Causes of Swollen Lymph Nodes
Bacterial Infections
Fungal Infection
Parasite Infections
Silicone Particles In Body (Finger or Toe Joint Implants, Breast Implants)
Virus Infections (most common cause of gland swelling)
So, really, I would assume its something minor like strep throat or tonsilitis maybe. Really, without a doctor, as you can see, the range of possibilities is HUGE. I would get it checked upon any of the conditions from the first half of this post.

When did it start?
What level of pain is she feeling on a scale of 1-10 (1 being bumping-into-a-table pain and 10 being having-your-arm-chopped off pain?
Is there pain anywhere else?
Is she on any meds?
Does she have any kind of skin rash / other swelling anywhere else?
Is there anything else wrong with her i.e. a runny nose / cough?
