I'm just wondering how all of a sudden the visitor messages have come back.

There was a thread about this before and the admins said that we couldn't bring them back because it would cause too much lag on the server and also that they may be too many abusive messages put on visitor messages.

So back to the question. How do we have visitor messages again?

I haven't noticed too much lag. It's what the admins decided to do. They seemed to have improved it

One reason why it was brought back is because the staff is easily able to manage them now that many have to be moderated

They changed their minds, thoses bloody admins are playing with us! :P No, we cant. BOOM We have! ^_^ Maybe like John said, things have changed.

Admins and possibly the mods are ale to moderate newer members visitor messages to make sure nothing bad is going into em, and its also a pretty public way to catch some people out

in another forum you get to delete your own messages and other people's messages but here I know that won't happen

The main problem was that in vBulletin 3.7 there was no way of tracking them. Now in this future version they can all be tracked without having to view every profile in existence. Since tracking is now in place there's really no good reason not to allow them.

Indeed it seems this is so. Maybe he was more commenting on the fact they all said no, then poof we have it.
