i have a question about hamlet; what is hamlet's state of mind before he fences with laertes?

If you really need to ask about a very simple question like that (which, to some degree, may even be open to interpretation), then you're not going to do very well in that class when it comes to Shakespeare anyway. Read the story, consider what's going on, the relations between characters, all that. This piece of advice will help you exponentially more than just rubbing the best possible answer in your face ever will.

really sorry i cannot help you with this, but i saw the name and as i enjoy shakespeare i thought id check it out. sadly hamlet is not one that i am familiar with. :/ xx

urmm, he was just asking. there was no need to be rude and say about the question being simple. how do you know that Christian hasnt read the book and just didnt understand it. there is nothing wrong with getting others opinions to help understand it. yeah maybe the advice you gave about reading and analysing the text may help but the way that you came across in saying it was just down-right rude and if this had been my thread that i wrote, i would be feeling extremly hurt. many threads i have been on i have seen posts from you that can come across as hurtfull and i know that you didnt nessaceraly (hate that word find it soo difficult to spell, can never remember) mean it to come across as that way but to me it does. you probably are not going to like what i have put but im just speaking my mind. sorry.
