What anoys me about sexuality is that everyone asumes there is only 3 types of sexuality when infact there are many more. What I would like to know is why does everyone think that and wether the world is willing to acept the minority as well?

People are probably only familiar with the three ones which are in mainstream media a lot.

I can think of four though for the most popular: straight, gay, bi and transgender. They're the main categories I suppose.

i have a question: how is transgender a sexuality?
not being rude just wondering. because after you change genders you'd either like males, females, both, or be one of the other sexualities right?

For me the whole notion of sexuality as a fixed scale is wrong, there are certainly more than 3 fixed points and I know that in my own case its a sliding scale and that my position on that scale is not constant. OK, so loads of you will say "its your hormones" or "give it more time" but really its not that, it just changes.

Interesting you put it that way. That's a lot how I am. It seems with time, I've been all over the spectrum at least once. Didn't know others had this too...

That's why, some people just prefer to not identify specifically with any sexuality, and remain open to all possibilities. Affixing labels can be seen as limiting.

Yeah, that would def be me.. I don't really 'fit' with one category. Unless 'confused' is a category

Confused probably is a category, but i dont feel confused, I think I will always be like this, a sort of floating voter.

I wonder how this would affect relationships in the future. Do you think us 'free floaters' could settle down with someone for a long time?

I could, yes, no doubt at all. Its not that I dont want or feel able to have a long term relationship, just that I cant totally predict what that might be. But I still feel more gay than bi. I dont feel that if I was in a relationship I would need to cheat to express "the other side", not at all.

Yeah, I see what you mean. With me, I feel more straight than gay or bi. But I do have somewhat of an attraction to guys. Ever since my eating disorder when I'd constantly compare my body to other guys, it almost turned into an "attraction". The thought of actually doing something with another guy is, well to me, unappealing. It's weird. I guess I'm just confused is all
