hey, is there a reason I can't private message someone from their profile?

Receiving PMs can be turned off, or limited to just contacts and moderators. That person has one of those 2 settings enabled.

hmmm, at the time of trying to send, did you have 25 posts? you need 25 posts to send messages. if not, i dont really know what the problem is.

Judging by your 27 posts, is it possible that you had under 25 when you last tried?
You need at least 25 posts to be able to PM someone, perhaps the recipient has PM's turned off.

How can you tell that, without going through every one of his posts?
I've been wanting to know that for a while.

Each post of his has a number on it. just look at the number of posts he has, then look in his posts on his profile

Well in this case I noted he had made 27 posts, and looked and saw that this was his 2nd newest, therefore by deduction must be his 26th.
