View Full Version : Hot Topic- Better than you think.

I know there will always be people who think punk/goth/emo/etc. are evil people who hate everyone and think they're mean. Trust me, if you see someone doing that, they aren't truly punk or goth or whatever you think they are.

Anyway, on to Hot Topic. I went to get some clothes and chains, and black hair dye. They were really nice and I kinda laughed when someone was taking pictures and they yelled "No pictures in the store!" I thought they were about to throw them out, alas they didn't.

Got some skinny jeans, tried 'em on, liked 'em. Got a wallet chain, belt, etc. All being cheap for what I got. The shirts in the back that were so stupid they were cool were nice but not in my taste. I noticed almost every band there they had CDs from were bands I like ('cept Bieber!).

If you ever need some clothes for a concert that isn't country or chick music, go to Hot Topic.
Has anyone here had a good experience at a HT? Is anyone a regular at one?

You just kind of implied a stereotype right there. You're saying people who wear clothes from HT are "punk, emo, or goth"

Anyways I shop there all the time. I like their clothes. But the only Hot Topic near me is like in another city so I usually just buy online
I just hate how the pants are so expensive :P But their worth it

I wasn't trying to but I'm saying that is where that community goes a lot. I thought the pants were cheap, maybe your prices are different or I have a different perception of cheap.

And the other guy. They do if they don't have a sewing machine or something to make their own.

Idk what you're talking about. If you mean re-purposing clothes, bleach #1 is bad for environment and stuff and many people frown on that #2 if you don't concentrate it somehow you have clothes that look like they were shat on by horse.

What I was talking about (icydk) is a lot of punk and goth people make their own clothes...

I don't find any good band shirts there. It's always filled with twilight fan shit. Not into skinny jeans that suffocate my body. And I hate the hipsters that work there.

One time I saw someone at hot topic that had an Insane clown posse shirt and was like, "U DOWN WITH THE CLOWN?"
He replied, "Hell yeah! Are you?"
My answer was, "FUCK NO!"

hottopic is okay i guess, but their clothes can be expensive, and break easily, i think hollister, abercombie are better because their clothes last years with the color and dont break easily

I love Hot Topic,
That's where I got my awesome purple converse from.
I used to have this awesome bracelet with pink and black dangling stars that I got from there,
Until someone stole it out of my PE locker in highschool >_>

I used to have Tripps,
But I bought them elsewhere for cheaper though.
Can't remember the name of the store.

The people were really nice, like I said, true punks/emo/goth, etc. are nice and they help each other, they're not the evil stereotype Americans make them out to be.

Me too

Im more of the Hollister Type, and i generally dont like Hot Topic. My one friend, who is very preppy and blonde, went there once and said they gave her a weird look like they didn't want her in there.

I love hot topic, but it costs a fortune to ship things over because I live in the UK.

what you did was made a valid point, then contradicted yourself by creating another stereotype of them, you were kinda bound to get your head bitten off... but yeah.

I like Hot Topic. Yeah, go on and shoot me.

I live in the UK, so we don't have Hot Topic over here, so I just resort to brands such as Hell Bunny, Criminal Damage, Living Dead Souls, Iron Fist, or any other alternative brand.

The Hot Topic in my mall smells...creepy. Like what a horror movie would smell like, if we had smell-o-vision.

Oh, and I can't walk by HT without thinking of this song.... :P

I didn't ask for your opinion

 Actually you did seeing as how this is an open forum whereby you failed to provide a strict and specific enough limits as to who you wish to respond. Also, the stereotype you used of goths and emos was not an entirely representative one for Hot Topic. You may not like the opinion (I have to agree with him as I do laugh at those pants) but you did ask for it.

I looked up some items on Hot Topic when I heard about it and much of it I thought was either over-priced or looked ridiculous.
