Is milk good for your bones? Does it really make your bones stronger and prevent osteoporosis?
I've pretty much been an obsessive milk drinker my whole life, but since I saw some autopsy show on Discovery channel once I've been really terrified of my bones rotting when I get older, especially since most women end up getting afflicted by it. They showed the actual bones of an elderly man who had it, and you could clearly see his arm bones were thinner than pencils... and they called this MODERATE osteo?? Dear God!! I don't want that to happen to me! That's absolutely horrible!! And not to mention very scary...

Osteoporosis is a calcium deficiency which makes the bones grow weaker and more frail than an ordinary persons. My mother suffers from this condition and to be honest it can be very hard to live with. What could give us a graze or a bruise when we fall over could potentially break a bone for someone with Osteoporosis. Its mainly women that suffer from this, as you've rightly said but 90% of suffers have gone through the menopause before symptoms of Osteoporosis begin to present themselves. As it is a deficiency of calcium in the body keeping up a steady intake of calcium will give you that little bit of prevention of this condition. So yes, Milk does help the bones grow stronger as to many other products that contain dairy.

this disease may also grow into the UK through surveys showing that 30% of girls do not eat/drink any dairy due to it's fat content (which is needed to live)
one of the oldest man alive i read somewhere says that he has survived as long as he had by drinking a glass of milk each day

Excessive Calcium Causes Osteoporosis
The older you get, the higher your risk of osteoporosis.
Obviously, osteoporosis is about aging.
Osteoporosis patients originally had very strong bones, like everybody else.
Sadly excess calcium can cause osteoporosis. If you would like to know how click on this link http://www.youngerthanyourage.com/4/ExcessiveCalcium.htm
Although milk/calcium is good for your bones it can also be bad, so really its all about balance. Too much and it can cause as much damage as not having enough

Milk is absolutely good for you... It's fortified with calcium, potassium, vitamin a and d, and a good deal of other vitamins and minerals... It is very good for bone health, mass, and strength and is also good for your teeth... So ya absolutely milk is good for you...
