Estimation of fasting serum lipids and of fasting blood glucose is required at the first renewal after the 25th birthday and then at each renewal after every fifth successive birthday.Examination by CASA Designated Aviation Ophthalmologist at age 60 and at two-yearly intervals thereafter.

I'm sure you go in to get a test done, or something like that.

I think because you're that high in the air, the pressure causes irregularities in the amount of glucose in your blood (blood sugar), and blood pressure.

I don't really know, but that's MY guess.

Serum lipids = the fat in your blood stream and glucose = the sugar found in your blood stream.

I can't see how they could estimate these levels at all as it would vary from person to person and there's no set level so yes you would probably have to have a small blood test done.

Also, any kind of fasting test looks at the amount of something inside the body after a certain period of not having consumed any solids or liquids apart from water.
