(Thought I'd post this so that I can see who else thinks like this)
So at school, you find yourself getting a lecture from a teacher because you forgot to do some very important coursework and then that famous line comes. "I know you don't WANT to do it but Guess What, Lifes unfair and sometimes you have to do things you don't want to". And while the teacher is rambling on i just think what a pathetic view. We're told that we have choices yet we are forced to do things without a choice. WTF! seriously... this pisses me off so much, The teachers are so blinded by their "wisdom" and their so called "experience in life" that they just assume that all teenagers are lazy and stupid. Well what if i made the choice to not do it becuase i decided to do something else which I thought would help me more, more important homework like maths, english or science. They think me so stupid when I'm taking responsibility for what what i do and controling what i believe will help me in the future.
Im gonna stop there because i could go on forever, i just want to ask you guys. ONE, do i sound like an idioit to you? and TWO, Do you do what you told and let your choices be made?

There's difference between a legitimate reason not to do something (ie physical harm, putting others in danger, morals reasons) and then there's laziness. Not doing schoolwork is laziness.
"Oh but Picasso didn't follow the rules and he was great!" Yeah well he knows them and proved that, then he told everyone to suck it and did some pretty revolutionary artwork.

Teachers can be complete dicks but a lot of the time they are right.

That quote is common because it's true.

You have a choice. You just won't like the consequences if you go a certain route. In this case, not doing your schoolwork.
The teachers are so blinded by their "wisdom" and their so called "experience in life" that they just assume that all teenagers are lazy and stupid.
When you're trying to argue that wisdom and life experience blind people, you're not really helping your case.
Well what if i made the choice to not do it becuase i decided to do something else which I thought would help me more, more important homework like maths, english or science.
If you're off rambling like this, I sincerely doubt there's any reason you couldn't have done the work aside from not wanting to.
They think me so stupid when I'm taking responsibility for what what i do and controling what i believe will help me in the future.
No, you're not. I'll get back to this point at the end of my post.
ONE, do i sound like an idioit to you?
I'm not going to answer that.
and TWO, Do you do what you told and let your choices be made?
Everything in life is a choice, KillerKing. At the end of the day, no one ever forces you to do anything- you make all your own decisions, it just so happens that at times you don't like any of the options available.
School isn't entirely about learning the curriculum. In fact, the curriculum makes up very little of what school is meant to teach you. The simple reality is, not everyone is going to live a fantastic life. We're not all going to have it made, with a big house and job we love and a lot of money, and most people are going to end up working jobs they aren't completely happy with to pay the bills and survive.
That's what school prepares you for. You're there to learn to accept having to do things you don't completely enjoy because it's the reality for the majority of people. You can whine and complain and let petty things like this bother you, or you can work through it, reap the rewards, and move on to greater things.

No, KillerKing is right. His teachers should applaud him for not doing his work, who has time for that nonsense when you're busy doing something creative and important, like ranting online?

Ranting online is not creative. If you did not pay attention and do some work in school you would not know a lot of things

Um no you will drop out at 15 try to get a job and not get one because you have no high school diploma. You will try to get a GED and fail because you failed school and you are stupid because you dropped out.

Anyway, I dropped out of school after my sophomore year and then passed the GED no problem and now I'm in college at 16.
Your point is moot.

Or why not simply answer the OP's question?
KillerKing, I know that teachers saying the fabled line 'Life is unfair' can seem archaic, bu if oyu think about it, there is a lot of things about life that is unfair or stupid. Admittedly, you can get bad teachers, but at the end of the day, they are there to help you live as an adult with a decent job. And when they say you have a choice, they mean that you can choose to do the right thing or choose to do the wrong thing, and live with the consequences either way.

Maybe I made a CHOICE not to answer his question because I decided to do something else that I thought would help more!
You know, because when you make a conscious choice to do something that you know the consequences of, you totally have the right to complain about those consequences and your teacher trying to do her job.
