View Full Version : The First Man?

What do you people think of having a first man instead of having the first lady? If Hillary Clinton wins the election, previous president Bill Clinton will become the "first man".

HILLARY CLINTON FOR PRESIDENT IN 2008

HILLARY CLINTON FOR PRESIDENT IN 2008

I'm pretty sure "first lady" was a term made up by the public. Correct me if I'm wrong. I see no problem with their being a first Gentleman.

I don't see why it would be any different to having a first Lady.

yea it would be First Gentleman, cause some women Govenors husbands have been styled as First Gentleman. but even if Hillary were to get elected Bill would still be President Clinton, because the title of President stays the rest of their life.

July 5th, 2006, 08:40 AM
that is true. i didnt think about the women governor thing.

No, he would still be reffered to as Mr. President, just like he is now. You don't demote somebody's title in the states. Once you are President, they allways call you president, so it will be, Mrs. and Mr. President. tehe. and hey, boognish, I'm a socialist, do you know what socialist means?

Bobby

Yea you just repeteated what Alex said. Could someone tell me what socialist means?? Then go back on topic.

who is Tim, I didnt repeat anyone, unless you count what redcar was saying, which i didnt really repeat him, I was more or less agreeing. Socialism means that people control the peoples shit. We rule not the government. We share our responsibilites. It gets rid of this corperate bullshit country, and makes way for small business. Look it up will you? Its for the better.

kermit

Lets get back on topic...

i like hillary clinton a lot, and i'm a democrat, but i couldnt vote for her (not just because i'm not old enough :D) but shes very hypocritical. she changes with the wind. one day she will say one thing and if it suites her, the next day she will do the opposite. shes very radical. But dont get me wrong, i think she is a good politican.

I think that its good she changes her opinion. Its good to change your mind as you learn.

i agree that it's good to change your mind as you learn, i dont agree that its good to change your mind to keep up an approval rating, when you dont even really believe what you changed your mind to. I'm not opposed to the idea of her being president, but i think she is a little too radical, and that there are better democrats quliafied for the position.

kermit

But you say that her changing her mind makes you like her less. And I assume more people feel the same way you do, therefor changing her mind does more harm then good, but at least shes supporting what she truly believes instead of something that shes not serious about.

I think Hilary Clinton would be a great president. I mean I think shes a great senator. and yes she might change her mind, but who doesn't and dont we as a society have a righ to change our minds, especally when times change. She voted for the war and most people at the time were for it because we belived Iraq was a threat to the U.S, but as time passed we got more info and we relaized the whole iraq situation was a croc of shit and she is now against it, can you blame her? Bush's approval rating is abysmal and most americans disagree with the war

I hope Rudi, the former Mayor of New York beats any Lady that runs for President Including Hillary but it's likely we could have a Woman President in 2008.

I amn sorry I do not like Rudi Giulliani, I lived in New York when he was mayor and he wasn't a very liked man. All of a sudden the nation gets attacked and he stands strong, and everyone forgets the things he did before, so he becomes a GREAT MAN, give me a freakin break
