Shut Down New Jersey

If a budget isnt passed in the next couple of hours, state beaches and park, casinos in atlantic city, dmv, and other state monitored things are going to be shut down. Governor Jon Corzine has been very aggresive with the New Jersey state legislature in trying to pass a new budget and a 1% sales tax increase to balance the state debt. Corzine has done an excellent job standing up to the rest of the state government. When the budget is passed, the state will officially re-open again. Many people's jobs are put on hold and many people's vacations are going to be ruined. The state will be losing a lot of money if the shut down occurs. What are your opinions? Do you think a budget will be passed soon?

well, i just heard on CBS that they offically closed the state of New Jersey. 1% sales tax increase is not the way to get out of debt though. they should be passing a new budget soon though. btw: what part of jersey do you live in? are you near bergen county?

morris county y? and i hope they pick a budget soon because we are losing money with the closed parks, beachs and casinos and racetracks and many people are out of jobs (courts, parks, etc.)

yea it sucks that they closed everything. if this goes on for too long then i think the feds will have to provide funding. hopefully the budget passes though.

they should straighten it out soon. i think the same thing happened in new york like a decade or so ago.
