i was just starting to think that since my B-day is coming up soon i could try and push for a basic package 360 just so i could fill my curiousity with the various xbox exclusives. at the minute the list is only a couple of games, mainly: left for dead2, fable, alan wake and gears of war2. i have a ps3 atm at overall prefer it and don't care too much for online so story mode is fine for me. i also feel that when ps3 move their arses and decide to make a game it's generally better than what xbox has to offer.
but there's still some things i'd like to see on xbox. do you guys think it really would be worth it to get an xbox not actually for it's online capabilities and just to play a couple of their exclusives?

For the sake of like £50 you might as well get one.
I have an xbox and I think the exclusives are the best games on xbox. Halo 3, l4d2, GoW2 - those three at least.

I would say get one. Xbox does have some exclusives that are pretty good.
Fable 2, Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, Left 4 dead 2, Gears of war 2, Crackdown 2, Dead rising, Halo 3, Viva Piñata, I could keep going on.
But if you're really only in for the game and not the multiplayer then I dunno. This is my opinion but I like xbox live alot better. The online has alot less lag. But it cost money.

I didn't know Dead Rising was exclusive for xbox.
I don't think that the xbl price is that bad, £40 for a year isn't too bad. Compared with the price of the ps3 in general.

Dead Rising isn't. And the price is actually the same, pretty much. They're both $299.99 for like an Elite and whatever gig Playstation 3.
Scuba, do whatever you want. Get it if you want, but don't expect to have loads of fun not having people to talk to or something.

Dead rising is exclusive for the Xbox 360. Dead rising 2 is going to be for the PS3 too ( I think )
"Dead Rising (Japanese: デッドライジング) is an action-adventure, survival horror video game, developed by Capcom and produced by Keiji Inafune. Originally developed as an exclusive title for the Xbox 360 video game console"

i had just been thinking with the likes of cross game chat and the more tightness you have with actual people you know for games would be fun, but when i see the plans for the psn platinum service that has this as well as increased server function would make it more similar to XBL i guess, which really was inevitable if you want to play well online. i personally prefer PS exclusives to Xbox's more sci-fi related games which is why i chose it bar a select few xbox ones. i think for the minute while my ps3 is still working fine i'll wait to see what platinum service is like, then decide if its worth a switch.
oh and by the way by the time you buy an xbox elite with a bundle of games with a 250 gb ps3 with a bundled game the price evens itself out
£290 ps3 250gb with two games
£230 xbox super elite (250GB) with two games + gold live £35 (265) + plus wifi adaptor £49.99
= new price: £314.99
so it really comes down to how much your willing to spend for online

Actually, using an Ethernet cable would get you the best connection because it's coming straight from the router, unlike wire less which has to travel through the air and obstacles.

You can get the extra strong ones that go outside, all the way along the outside wall of the house and back in through a window into your xbox.
I don't need one, considering my router can rest on top of my xbox. A friend does use one though.
