View Full Version : Radical Islamic Web site takes on 'South Park'

Peace God
April 22nd, 2010, 03:04 PM
The radical Islamic Web site Revolutionmuslim.com is going after the creators of the TV cartoon series "South Park" after an episode last week included an image of the Prophet Mohammed in disguise.

Revolutionmuslim.com, based in New York, was the subject of a CNN investigation last year for its radical rhetoric supporting “jihad” against the West and praising al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden. Its organizers insist they act within the law and seek to protect Islam.

On Sunday, Revolutionmuslim.com posted an entry that included a warning to South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone that they risk violent retribution – after the 200th episode last week included a satirical discussion about whether an image of the prophet could be shown. In the end, he is portrayed disguised in a bear suit.

The posting on Revolutionmuslim.com says: “We have to warn Matt and Trey that what they are doing is stupid and they will probably wind up like Theo Van Gogh for airing this show. This is not a threat, but a warning of the reality of what will likely happen to them.”

Theo van Gogh was a Dutch filmmaker who was murdered by an Islamic extremist in 2004 after making a short documentary on violence against women in some Islamic societies. The posting on Revolutionmuslim.com features a graphic photograph of Van Gogh with his throat cut and a dagger in his chest.

The entry on Revolutionmuslim.com goes on to advise readers:

“You can contact them [the makers of South Park], or pay Comedy Central or their own company a visit at these addresses …” before listing Comedy Central’s New York address, and the Los Angeles, California, address of Parker and Sloane’s production company.

Contacted by CNN, the author of the post, Abu Talhah al Amrikee, said that providing the addresses was not intended as a threat to the creators of South Park but to give people the opportunity to protest.

Over still photographs of Parker, Stone, van Gogh and others, the Web site runs audio of a sermon by the radical U.S.-born preacher Anwar al-Awlaki, who is now in hiding in Yemen. The sermon, recorded some time ago, talks about assassinating those who have “defamed” the Prophet Mohammed – citing one religious authority as saying “Harming Allah and his messenger is a reason to encourage Muslims to kill whoever does that.” U.S. officials say al-Awlaki is on a list of al Qaeda leaders targeted for capture or assassination.

The clip ends with a warning on a graphic directed at Parker and Stone, saying “The Dust Will Never Settle Down.”

Al Amrikee said the purpose of including the al-Awlaki sermon in his posting was to remind Muslims that insulting the prophet is a severe offense for which the punishment in Islam is death. He said RevolutionMuslim may hold protests about the show.

Calls to Comedy Central were not returned.

Geeze, looks like they have butthurt... I mean, seriously, South Park makes fun of everything and they're the ones now making a big deal. It makes fun of blacks, Jews, Christians, and everyone, but I never have seen them get offended. I guess only non extremist Muslims can take a joke like that.

I didn't watch the episode, so I don't know if it was bad or not.

Hurr durr, only the Shiites are the extremists, if I am correct. They make up like eighteen percent of the Muslim population.

But you have to see that even though the Shiites are the extremists of the Muslim religion, they're obviously seen as the entire religion and give it the name of extremism.

Haha half of the episode was discussing what exactly would be safe for a portrayal of Mohammed, and the extremists still aren't happy. Even after Buddha was shown taking drugs in front of children in the same episode.

This is a joke on the internet renowned meme"Pedo Bear" - And the fact Prophet Mohammed married Lady Aisha when she was 9, while Prophet Mohammad was 50 or so at that time.

He was also seen with Buddha, Jesus and Shiva(?) in one of the episodes as well.
The same character appears in family guy. And another Joke, where they show the family guy episode in South Park wearing a helmet(Correct me if I am wrong).
Looks like the Indian merchant from Dragon-Quest to me

==

Well, as a person having the "background" I don't care at all. Let them insult Prophet Mohammad as long as they are alive.

I like him for whatever reason he got the Gold out of Issac Newton and Jesus Christ - Aye.
======

As Shi'ite being the extremist is completely fallacious. Al-Qaeda and Taliban are not Shi'ite groups, but in fact Anti-Shi'ite.

The most dominant Political-Religious Shi'ite group is Hezbollah.

Anything else?

Hezbollah and Al-Qaeda are well.. you know the rest better.

And wait? When that cartoon was released? Is that even related to Pedo Bear?

Silly me, no it doesn't!

But wow, after all these years and now some bunch of hypocrites started to rise up.

Let me straighten things back.

Sunnis and Shiites Are Major Sects of Islam.
Minor sects are like Fatimia, Ishmaelia, Ahamadia, Sof'ia and so on.

Hezbollah and El-Kai De are just an Organization.

By "Bleeping" this will actually increase the fun-factor, and the fact that non of the profane words used by the three kids are censored. Kenny? He is already muffled.

There used to be an Arabic(Kuwaiti - where I live) version. Block 13. This one does not contain any profanity or satirical aspect. In fact, it was meant for kids and depicts the actual life of modern Kuwaitis now.

No one is calling muslim's extremist they are calling the group that threatened to kill the south park creators over an episode extremists(which they are). So don't take offense to this since it's not about the full religion just a small group.

They still shouldn't joke about religion. REligious people happn to watch that show and could get offended by it. They shouldn't have depicted Muhammad in such a way. Why is it neccessary to make fun of someone's beleifs? Yes it was wrong for them to threaten to kill them over the TV show, but still that was horrible for them to make that in the first palce... I think a public appology should be stated.

*This is according to Islamic theology*

He is considered a Prophet, messenger and apostle of Allah. Jesus son of Marry.

If a Muslim "openly joked about jesus" then they are considered apostates, an outcasts.

From the lineage of Abraham to Mohammad, are all Prophets of Allah. Messengers sent to warn their people and the world. The act of "openly joked about jesus" is of course, in Islam, blasphemous.

This needs more explanation, but I will stop here.

Well I am not offended at all but in my opinion the main reason people got over offended is because that it is completely forbidden in Islam to portray a prophet. Because when you paint a prophet, or build a statue you would believe that object, not the original being and that is Paganism. Well that is what we think, atleast. For example we watched a cartoon movie about Mohammed's life and He, and several other important religious figures in Islamic history weren't shown. There were just floating swords in air.

But for me it is being stupid to be offended in this situation. This is South Park after all, and because of it I piss shit from laughter every time I watch it.
