Bumps?

yeah so im 16 and i got there small bumps on my scrotum and around the base of my shaft. they arnt discolored...just a little off-white. any idea what this is? should i get it checked out?

i think i have em too. mine arent really white tho. it just sorta looks like really small bumps under my skin. doesnt seem to hurt at all tho

Its called sebaceous prominence (aka Forcyde spots). They are oil glands that are larger than normal. Lots of people have it! I do. They may go away but most people who have it keep it through their adulthood. There is no cure as of yet although there are way to reduce their size. Google it. You are not alone.

Actually no, they're hair follicles most likely. Everybody gets them. Or has them I should say.

yah most guys get them. they are normally where your hair will grow in. They go away/shrink back down with time

You can get pimples/acne any where on your body.. And most likely, thats probably what it is.

I am guessing what you are describing are hair follicles especially if you are just starting to grow hair all over your body. For some guys scrotum hair does not grow in right away, and you might just be getting it now even though you might have had pubes for a while.

I would say that if you are sexually active and have any doubt about your partner being clean, then get checked out as it is far easier to deal with problems early on rather than later on when it becomes established. If you are a virgin, then I would not worry as long as what you have are not developing into boils or are oozing out fluid or pus. The next time you are in with the doctor, then just it is fair game to ask him/her what is going on. Also, if you are close with your Father or older sibling, then you can always get their opinion as many times responsible older folks such as your parents or older siblings can give good advice, too.
