I dont shave my pubes, I trim them with a clipper, shaving them makes it irritated.
Don't be nervous to ask your father.
Approach him one day and open a conversation like
"Dad, I think it's time for me to start shaving."
He'll let you watch him in the morning and give you pointers and then take you razor shopping, get you the creme and aftershave you think you'd like best.

I didnt ask my stepfather to help me, i figured it all out myself > 3>
Me personally I use a gillete fusion, it has the hedging blade on the top to get the top of the top lip and its awesome for hedging if you want to style your beard.
Ask your father about razors, shaving creme (they're all different kinds, like for sensitive skin and all that) preshave (it stands the hair up and makes it easier) aftershave (smooths and tones, repairs skin after shaving)
He'll help you with all this and teach you the best way to shave. :]

The hardest part is summoning up the courage to talk to your father. Once you do that its a piece of cake.

The way you ask your Father to help you start shaving is that you simply tell him that you are getting some hairs on your face and that you want to look clean. No sane parent is going to say no to that request, and your Father will definitely help you out. It is your Father's job to teach you how to shave, and I would not be afraid as it is his responsibility to do so. It is not like he is going to get mad at you. If you are afraid he is going to make fun of you, then just tell him that you want to ask him something but that you would feel really hurt if he made fun of you. Once you get that out of the way, then ask him how to shave. Trust me, you need someone around your first couple of times as shaving is not easy.

As for shaving pubes, your best bet is to invest in a beard trimmer which you can use down there. The beard trimmer is safe as it does have a guard, and you can trim your pubes pretty fast with one. A beard trimmer is in the neighbourhood of $15, and I am sure you can afford one if you save your allowance.

Manual rasors give a closer shave but electric rasors are quicker and neater. It is a personal preference on what you want to use, but I prefer manual rasors as electric rasors feel like they are eating up my face. My suggestion is to try both to see what works for you as every guy is different. There is no right or wrong answer to this question.

Oh something that's a guy's best friend if they use manual razors is the vibrating razors, they increase glide and shave you much smoother. That's what I use.

When I first got facial hair (12) my mom thought I was too young to start shaving it. So I waited until it just got to be way too much, and had my stepdad show me how. If you say you're starting to get a few hairs, I wouldn't worry about it too much yet. Just start when it's noticeable/unsightly. You may think it's "cool" to start shaving, but really it's just a hassle, and you'll wish you didn't have to.
