So, I'm literally terrified of my future.

It's just that my family, on my mom's side have this thing with males. AS IN: No male on my mom's side of the family has ever lived past the age of 60(Except for my grandfather)... I don't know if it's a curse or what. But My grandpa was recently diagnosed with lung cancer this year, he has not touched a cigarette in over 20 years, and was never around second hand smoke. He most likely will not make it long, but at least he broke the curse.

Here's what really creeps me out. His two brothers, and a sister, and his aunt, have all also died, from cancer. Only one of them was not lung cancer. None smoked.

Now, not only am I terrified for my life, I'm also terrified for my mom's. I don't really have that great of a dad, and if my mom somehow *gulp* leaves, I don't know what I'd do.

I don't know anything about my dad's family, he was adopted.

Hey man. If I were you I wouldnt worry about it. Smoking isnt the only way you can get Lung Cancer. Your family must be very very unlucky. If you live a healthy life, you will live for a long time. If you get cancer, well I guess that is just bad luck. Sometimes life can be unfair, we just have to do what we can to make it enjoyable and fulfilling. I am sorry to hear about your grandad. I hope he gets better soon.

Go do something to take your mind off it. Trust me, there is no curse on your family.

Edit: And for your mum, I would not worry. If she lives a healthy life, she will live for a long time. Although, if the tragedy does occur and she does die early for some reason, it is not the end of the world. My mum would have died 3 years ago this Augest. When it happens you feel like your alone, and nothing will ever get better. But it has actually made me a more indapendent person.
