What the hell is happening in this country..
A 16-year-old boy was stabbed to death outside a birthday party in Croydon, south London, early on Sunday.
Police said the victim was not a guest at the party, which was being held at Croydon Sports Arena, Albert Road.
They were called to a disturbance at 0018 BST. A boy aged 15 was arrested nearby on suspicion of murder and possessing an offensive weapon.
A post-mortem examination of the un-named victim was taking place later, police said.
A police spokesman said: "On arrival officers found a youth in a walkway near the club with serious chest wounds."
'Gatecrashing incident'
He was pronounced dead at the scene. Next of kin have been informed.
The spokesman said there had been another incident at the same place two hours earlier, when between six and eight people tried to gatecrash the party.
"At this early stage it is believed the victim was not a guest at the party and it is unclear what he was doing in the area," said the spokesman.
Det Insp Alison Hepworth from Homicide and Serious Crime Command said: "We know there were many guests at the party and would appeal to them to come forward with information on what happened."
