Stick up for him, stay on his side, let the bullies see that a real friend doesnt care if their best friend is gay.

Talk to him. Make sure he knows you're always there for him no matter what sexuality he is, stick up for him when the shit comes his way.
Moving to.. Teen Sexuality seen as its about your friend being gay/bi

Defending him probably won't be very successful or even have any point. There will be times that you aren't around to help him.
My suggestion is that you just continue to be a good friend and be there for him. Let him know it eventually will pass (because it will) and just be there...don't let the tormenting effect your friendship and definitely don't join in on it.

stay by his side,
and who cares if anyone thinks you're gay too, that's not bad. you know who you are, it doesn't matter what other's think

all i can say is be there...
people will always have their prejudices and there is nothing that you can do about it.
Be there, and be a true friend to give him happiness.
