Yo, so lately since I turned 13 i've been feeling a bit … above my age. I kill my self when I try to go to sleep about how I have a below average IQ of 107, how I'm not an A grade student and not being someone who supports themselves. I'm always trying to stop my parents buying things that I want, I rapidly swing between being happy and having everyone say that I'm being a grumpy shit. I don't feel loved by my girl, I feel like I'm letting my parents down by not being completly independent. I stay up late worrying about whether I'll have the grades to be a psychologist. I just generally feel depressed and not the independent, self supporting teen I want to be. What should I do?

Your 13. Don't worry about it. For the first half of high school I was a straight B student with one C in foreign lang. I'm now double majoring in Biomedical-Engineering and Psychology, with a 3.3 GPA. You'll be ok. Don't stress, just do your best and you'll make it out just fine.

This to me doesn't sound like classical 'mood swings', but more that you're dealing with a lot of stress. Set aside an hour in your day specifically to 'de-stress' in whatever way that's best for you (relaxing music, reading a book, a nice bath, etc.) This is doubly effective if done before bed, as you'll be more relaxed and fall asleep quicker; and probably have a better 'sleep' then you would have had, had you been overstimulated.

You're 13, you don't need to start becoming completely independent yet, you're still a kid. You're allowed to have fun and enjoy life, you don't have to stress yourself out because you don't think you're currently at the top of your game.
