Hope we have some hockey fans here!! As most hockey fans already know the Edmonton Oilers won the draft lottery the other day, finishing dead last in the league. Who do you think will go number one overall in this years draft? It's pretty close this year between Taylor Hall and Tyler Seguin, I personally think they'll go with Hall especially since Edmonton NEEDS a sniper, whereas Seguin is more of a playmaker.
Hall has drawn modern day comparisons to Zach Parise of the New Jersey Devils, whereas his counterpart in this years draft Tyler Seguin has drawn comparisons to hockey great Steve Yzerman. If i were Edmonton though, i would draft Seguin and sign a good forward like Patrick Marleau or Ilya Kovalchuk in the offseason and put them together on a line.
What do you guys think?

I'm going to have to go with Hall. He seems quicker, and more impressive in my opinion.

I'm going to go with Hall as well. He's been #1 for quite some time, until recently. Then again, it's whoever the Oilers want more. You mention a good point, Hall is a sniper, and the Oilers need one. They already have two good young playmakers in Andrew Cogliano and Sam Ganger. However, going with Seguin and hoping for a good free-agency could be risky, but if Patrick Marleau and Kovie are available, then the Oil really needs to hop on.
Wouldn't go wrong with either one.

From my count, Seguin had 18 more goals in 6 more games played, so I'd consider HIM to be the sniper.

Really? Because from my count Seguin had 8 more goals in 6 more games played not 18.. Hall also plays on a better team than Seguin allowing him to dish the puck and not have to create more oppurtunities for himself. They're both great goal scorers, I'm just saying that Seguin is more of a pure playmaker than Hall is.

That's true, but like I said, neither one would be bad.
Then again, we all said that about Alexandre Daigle and Chris Pronger too, and one of them certainly didn't pull their weight.

I hate to ruin this for you but this is pretty inaccurate. Probably made before the draft lottery. Because the Islanders have the fifth pick, not third. And the hurricanes aren't in the top 5. That would be godsent if we could somehow manage to get Erik Gudbranson though.. I'd go to mynhldraft.com, they have past drafts, and a mock draft of this years draft according to the correct lottery order. (I know I'm late on this thread btw) http://www.mynhldraft.com/NHL-Mock-Draft/ (Mock draft with correct order)

Yeah I do believe this was made before the lottery, sorry I wasn't paying attention to that. Still, it gived good information about the players, and I'll check out that website.

Yeah the information on all the players was accurate, just not the draft order.

I bought the Future Watch magizine the other day, looks like they have about the same idea as well, with Hall first and Seguin afterwards.

Those in the know seem to think Hall will go to Boston, and Seguin to Edmonton.

I really like Taylor Hall better as a player, man he realy has some balls and a disregard for getting punished but that is my concern. The way he works the boards I think he will have a major target on his back in the NHL and may end up just getting too many concussions and bad injuries. I think he would be a better fit in Boston than Edmonton.

The only reason I've been hearing that seguin will go first is because oiler fans are worried Hall won't stay once his deal is up. You really can't go wrong with either guy though, Seguin really impressed the scouts at the combine and edged out Taylor hall as the number one ranked prospect in the draft next month according to NHL central scouting. Many scouts said Seguin had a VERY impressive physique and is ripped and in top physical condition.

The new mock drafts are showing Seguin is now first.
Now it's anyone's guess, I have no fucking clue.
