Medicinal Marijuana

I was wondering what other peoples views on the medicinal use of marijuana were.

I have Muscular Dystrophy, and the only thing holding me back from getting my card is the fees (doctors and I have already talked). On the one hand, I don't like some of the effects of pot, on the other living without the pain is a prolific change in my life.

My mind is already made up about the issue, but what do you think?

im for it. people shouldnt have to go through pain if they dont have to. marijuanas side effects are nothing compared to other perscribed drugs.

Well where I live it's legar for the purposes I use it for. Mainly pain relief, counteracting some of my weakness (don't realize how weak I am when I'm high), and controlling my muscle spasms. It's also been proven in multiple studies to be one of the most effective drugs on the market (when smoked) for controlling chronic vomiting and nausea. Also, it's available in a refined pill form for those (with the cash) who want to avoid the negative aspects of smoking.

Also, marijuana is a habit forming drug, where as certain pain killers and muscle relaxants which could be used as alternatives are highly addictive, not to mention have side effects of reducing one's appetite, vomiting and nausea, etc.

It's not a matter of druggies using medicinal marijuana as an excuse to get their fix; it's a legitimate medicinal drug that's been in use for thousands of years.

well i personally think that marijuana being illegal in any way shape or form is a joke anyway. i dare anyone to give me 3 legitiment reasons why marijuana should be illegal.

It's stupid that anyone would make it illegal for medical purposes. My mum uses it for her MS and I don't see whats so bad about it.

Do you mind if I ask how she uses it, and how often?

For me (when I have a constant supply. I don't have the space to grow my own just yet, so I rely on dealers and my unstable cash flow :( ) I smoke a wake 'n' bake, and gives me a nice subtle high throughout the day that can be supplemented as it wears out. No couch lock for me, thanks. I can generally do 1-2 bowls a day (from a bong) depending on how good it is.

However (and here's where people are probably gonna start flaming me), I don't see anything wrong with using it socially either, since I'm gonna have my card. I'm accustomed to regulating my high, so I'm generally not gonna get completely blazed. If someone else wants to smoke with me, and they've got match, who am I to say no?

no smoking it socially is totally fine by me. marijuana really does not harm you very much at all. there are way worse things for your body that you could be doing....... like drinking for example.

I have nothing against cannabis, if people really need it to medical porpuses (spell??)
if people decide to go high all around the street, if it becomes legal (which i dnt think it will) i have no problem, but i dont want people to get high, and start touching me and molesting me!!

Smoking Marijuana IS legal, having ossesion of it IS NOT, i think that possesion should be legal, cuz i dont see n e thng wrong with it, i smoke it all day everyday , not in the accuall sense but, its ok i think

Uhm Actually if your smoking a joint your passing it around, which means noone really has possesion of it, and its not considered possesion of it if u have it in your hand for 3 seconds. ohh, your talking about joints. well chances are you'd still get arrested if a police officer saw you smoking the joint. Or unless everyone ran he might take everyones name down as a warning if your luckey. and no im not an anti marijuana person, im a pothead who knows how disgustingly strict the marijuana laws are getting.
