No i watched some vid of him talking about it he was discovered by an agent in atlanta and he saw usher somewhere and asked if he could sing for him but usher said no at first then saw him on youtube or something and called him back so he could sing. Also Justin Timberlake was trying to get him too.

It's our right of free speech, we can say what we want about his singing. He puts himself out there, he can't expect to not have two-sided opinions. A bad opinion is the same as a good, it just has a different meaning. You can't judge him as a person though, and I didn't.
