There was a time when you were confused
When you liked me and I liked you
I was sure, but you didn’t know what to do
Questions left answerless are no real clue
Reasons with flaws make it seem untrue
Whatever was there, left you to choose
I had the easy choice, nothing to lose
But sadly there was nothing you’d use
Because it was me, and you weren’t quite amused
Tell me now, when did we trade sides
When did I become so utterly confused?
It was always you who had a life to choose
Promises, promises I kept them so strong
Sadly yours could never stay very long
Can’t understand it, it still holds no sense
This happy story’s wall is simply a fence
What now? What am I supposed to do?
It wasn’t easy then, but still more to you
Confused, with this we each took our turn
Now it should be over, there’s nothing to earn
This story has so much, so many twists and turns
No one can understand this unorganized demand
The way our emotions change from hand to hand
So will you just let me lye here now?
Or keep lifting me up each day, some how
There is no reason to contemplate a conclusion
All of my hopes were so apparently of an illusion
Even though this story stills wonders for beyond
It’s time for me to close the book, for I’m no longer fond
On the meaning it holds to our hearts, there is no binding
