Just FYI this free-verse poem is not Lady Gaga related though some themes may be obviously in both.
I stand on the balcony,
like a lighthouse.
I am tall and proud with a halo of desire;
Glistening in the night.
I am The Fame
I lurk in the alley,
rancid little creature.
Look at me fallen so far from Zion;
Child star turned crack whore.
I am The Fame
I strut the blood red river,
super nova, camera flashes.
I paid my cent to Charon, a limo driver;
Ferry me back from the land of the lost.
I am The Fame
I stand and look through frosted glass,
television eyes galore.
Little dreams, small desire to pretend;
Ambitions to be greater than this.
I am The Fame
I burn up, I fall down,
washed up, talentless drunkard.
The poison, the filth, the heart ache;
Daddy left a mark on the boy.
I am The Fame
I dance and I twirl,
fake smiles in bounty.
Not the life I had desired;
the mother tightens the umbilical noose.
I am The Fame
On a Grave, left bare,
unmourned - no one cared.
A final epitaph to the life once had
"I'm so Glamorous,
I shit Glitter"
I am Vulgarity
I am Obscenity
I am Degraded
I am The Fame.
~Hope you like it, please comment and I'll answer any questions about the meaning of some of the stanzas :D~
