Can you clarify the circumstances under which links to other websites are allowed in signatures please. I've read the rule countless times and still find it confusing:

Posts and signatures that advertise other websites and other flagrant advertising are not permitted. Links to external sites are allowed when they relate to a discussion, in your signature....

I was recently instructed to remove a link to another forum from my signature but a number of other users have similar links, in some cases much more prominent than mine was. So when are links allowed in signatures?

You're allowed to advertise a personal website in your signature. Whoever told you to take the link out is incorrect.

Well it wasnt exactly a personal website, it was another forum (ExtremeTeenForums to be exact). But like I say, a number of other users have similar links to govteen and elsewhere, so I'd just like to be clear on whether its ok or not.

Who, for example? It might be helpful to know so as to not apply a double-standard here.(use pm)

You are fine to link to link to other forums in your signature.
