I am suffering from Severe Depression and I can not cut my self when I feel sad so I bite myself instead. Is this normal? I need help!

It is self harm. any action undertaken with the intention of harming oneself is self harm. self harm is never the answer Hun

Yes, biting oneself is a form of self-harm. And like all forms of self-harm, it can be overcome. I would suggest seeking professional help, like a therapist. If they don't know already, I would tell your parents too. Sometime just telling people can be a form of therapy on its own. This can be overcome, it can!!! There is always help out there. Never doubt that.
It is also worth mentioning, that there are hundreds and thousands of members on this site, that are always willing to help, so if you need to, just PM any one of us :)

If you need help hun, go get it.
Self Harm is never the answer, gets you nowhere, and frankly isn't worth it.
It's not going to make the reasons you suffer from depression go away.
Stay strong, you don't need silly things like that.

That is self harm. I don't think there's anything abnormal about that (I did it)
But it's still a terrible idea..

WTF? Since when is SI normal in any way, shape, or form.
This is not a pro site
Now that that's out of the way.
Yes, biting is just as bad as cutting. It IS hurting you.
And it can get worse.
I once said I would could never cut. That didn't work out too well.
If youre seeing someone you may want to tell them, if they haven't noticed bruses already

Saying that it is "normal" isn't promoting it, a lot or people do it. That doesn't make a good idea. It's still a absolutely terrible idea. I guess it kind of depends on what your definition of "normal" is..

Saying it's normal is saying that it's OK to use forms of SI as a way to cope, and it's not.

to answer your quesiton yes it is self harm which is like cutting . like someone said above it's unusual, but i do it... try to stop. instead of biting yoruself, bite perhaps a pllow, choclate, a blanket, anything but yourself. try to seek help form a counsler or psycologist if it gets worse...
overcome.

Biting is still a method of self harm, especially if you have intent of doing yourself damage. The same goes obviously for self inflicted cutting, burning, or even starvation.
