It's still in progress, and I'll add as I go, but I might like some suggestions and opinions. Here is what I have.

Prologue
Conner walked down the street with his hands in his pockets. Just one more day and he would get to meet his cousin from Georgia. He didn't know a thing about her, not even her name. He wasn't supposed to know she was coming down, but he'd known for a week. He wasn't even supposed to know she existed. What would she be like? Why was she going to come now? The new semester of school was getting ready to start, maybe she was moving here. Maybe, just maybe, she would be attending the same High School as him.

Conner thought back to his day at school, he cringed. He didn't like school, where normal kids had friends, he had bullies. He didn't tell his parents this because they always thought that he would be the popular type. It was hard enough for him to manage keeping his grades up to his parent's expectations. Conner felt that the only thing he was good at was investigating and writing. He knew everything he could before anyone was even supposed to know. That's how he escaped several of the tormenting experiences the bullies had in mind for him. And as far as writing went, he had an anonymous slot on the school paper.

Conner reached his house and walked through the front door. His parents weren't home yet, but that was normal. His parents always worked until nine or ten at night. Conner rummaged through the fridge for some dinner until he finally gave up and ordered a pizza. Maybe his cousin coming tomorrow would be a good thing. Conner started his home work for the weekend while he waited for the pizza.

~*~*~
Naomi stared at her packed suit case. All of her possessions were in that one simple suit case. It wasn't much, but even though her parents had lots of money, she only kept what matter most to her. A few simple outfits, a few novels, a netbook computer and a small purple blanket. Naomi closed and secured the suit case, she didn't want any of these items to go missing when she boarded the plane tomorrow. Her parents hadn't told her where she was going, just that she wouldn't see them for a while. Not that it made much of a difference; her parents were always busy anyways.

Naomi climbed into her bed thinking what could possibly happen. She couldn't be going to her grandparents house's, none of them were alive. Her parents were both only children, she couldn't be going to an aunt or uncles. Maybe it was a close friend of one of her parents. But why did her parents need her to go away? They hadn't even told her how long. Naomi tossed and turned as her mind puzzled these few things. Tomorrow would give her at least some of these answers.

One - Before She Left
Naomi got up three hours before she would have to leave. There was just one thing she wanted to do before she left this house, especially since she wasn't sure that she would be coming back. Naomi crept down the hall into a spare room. The room she wasn't supposed to go in but was constantly in anyways. The back of the closet had a hollow in it with a chest that had been locked, she had finally found they key hidden in an envelope from the desk in the room. Naomi slipped the chest out of the hollow and unlocked it, there was a stack of letters and a small book titled "Eccliptis' History." Naomi stuffed these into a pocket of her jacket and quickly put everything else back in it's place.

Naomi crept back into her room and locked her door. She pulled out the book to try to read it but it was written in some sort of code, or other language. She shoved the book into her suitcase and looked at the letters. They were written in the same code. Naomi sighed and put them with the book. She'd have to sort this out later, she heard her parents coming down the hall. Naomi rushed to her door to unlock it. She had her suit case in her hand when her parents entered her room. "Naomi, you're ready then?" her father spoke as if he were disconnected from her. Naomi nodded without a word. Her parents must know about the chest, but did they know what was in it?

~*~*~
Conner was surprised when his parents woke him in the morning. It was a Saturday, why were they waking him so early? "Conner, get up son, we have a surprise. But we have to go get it." Conner sat up in his bed, his floppy blonde hair messed up and hanging over his green eyes. "Uh, okay..." Conner rubbed his eyes, "what about breakfast?" Conner's mother smiled faintly, "We'll get some while we're out." His parents left the room so Conner could get ready. Was his surprise his cousin? That had to be it. Why wasn't her family coming with her? He slipped the letter that held this information from under his bed. He read it in his head before getting ready to go.

Dear Similtons,
I'm sorry for the inconvenience, but we are requesting your niece come down. This is for the safety of Eccliptis. You know what that means. We will send her with everything you will need and some money for the inconvenience. Remember the Code and the Dignity of Eccliptis. Let her tales live on in the shadows.

Naomi stared out the plane window. Her parents hadn't even said bye, hadn't told her they loved her. She saw the Florida airport coming into sight. Now she would meet who ever she was staying with and they would explain who they were. Wouldn't they? But what if they were like her parents and never talked to her. She would just have to find things out on her own, like she always did. Naomi lied back in her seat as the plane met the runway. How would she know who was picking her up?

~*~*~
Conner wasn't surprised when they pulled into the airport parking lot, but his parents didn't seem to notice. He followed them quietly through the parking lot and into the air port. They waited at one of the gates with a sign that read "Naomi P." Conner looked at his dad but his dad stared on toward the gate, as did his mom. So her name is Naomi. Conner waited as his parents watched everyone come out of the gate. A girl in a black hoodie and jeans caught Conner's attention. Her blonde hair and bright red highlights were in layers down to her shoulders. Straight, side parted hair hanging over her right eye, her big brown-red eyes. Conner had never seen eyes that color before. Why did she catch his attentio? Before he could stop looking at her she stood infront of his parents. "Hi, I'm Naomi."

Conner's parents had not said a word the whole way to the diner they went to. Naomi stared out the window the entire time with ear buds in. Conner couldn't stand it being so quiet, nothing made sense. Why had he never heard anything about her before and why were they not explaining now? Conner waited until they pulled up at the diner and asked his mother privately, "So she's my cousin?" His mother nodded her head and replied blandly "Yes, she's going to be staying with us a while." "Well, why haven't I heard about her before?" Conner's mother frowned at him, "We didn't even know about her, Conner." He stuck his hands in his pockets, "I didn't even know I had an aunt or uncle." "It doesn't matter now, you know." Conner's mother rejoined his father and Naomi as they were heading toward a table.

Three
Naomi put her small suit case onto her bed to start unpacking. She looked over at the dresser; there was more than enough room for her small amount of belongings. Conner walked up behind her, "I'm Conner." Naomi glanced over her shoulder at him, "I know." She didn't really want to talk to him, she didn't want to talk to anyone. But what if he had answers, "Did you know you had a cousin?" Conner seemed slightly thrown off by the question, "Um, no, I didn't." He looked down at the floor as Naomi spoke quietly, "Neither did I." Naomi didn't know what else to say. Conner spoke up, "So I guess you're going to start the new semster on Monday at Juevelli High?" "Juevelli High? That the local High School? I guess." "Uh, yeah, it is. What grade are you in? I'm a Sophmore." Naomi let out a sigh, "Junior." "Oh, so you're what, seventeen? I just turned sixteen in November." Was he still trying to make conversatoin? This was going to be fun, she was going to be stuck with him for who knows how long. "I'm sixteen until July." "Oh, so you're my age, but a grade ahead, I see." "Look, I don't know what you do out here, but I just want to be alone this weekend, okay?" Conner took a step back, "Oh... well, alright, I guess." He walked out of her room shutting the door. Finally.

~*~*~
So she was a tad impatient, but was it his personality? He always seemed to get that reactoin from people. No one ever liked him; he either talked too much, was too much of a goody-goody or wasn't 'cool' enough. So it would be just the same as school, only it would now would be at home as well. Conner went in his room and logged onto his computer to see if any of his internet friends were on; those were the only friends he had. Currently, considering it was a weekend, only one friend was online; Preston. Conner IMed Preston: "Hey, how's it hangin'?" "Hey man, how's it goin'? Did that cousin of yours come today?" "Yeah, but she doesn't wanna talk to me." "Well, that's a typical girl for you. She talkin' up her friend but not you. haha" "She doesn't talk AT ALL." "Oh... is she human?" "I think... that would be weird if she wasn't." "Ha, you who knows everything ahead of time actually doesn't know something. And it's in YOUR life. How'd that happen?" "Not a clue, but it's ironic." "Yeah it is, well, I gotta run, parnts want to hang today." "Have fun, I'll work on our site." "Okay man, later." "Later." Conner closed chat, nothing to do but work on his website. Maybe more would unfold when school started.

Four
Naomi sat on her bed staring at her backpack. She has wasted her entire weekend without getting any information on what was going on. Maybe life would be better if she just kept to herself and didn't pay attention to what was going on. She would only be friends with people online, that way she wouldn't have to worry about losing them. Yes, that's exactly what she would do. Naomi pulled out her netbook and booted it. She doubted her aunt and uncle would pay any more attention to her then her own parents. Naomi logged onto her "home forum;" Invisible People Forums. She fit in perfectly there.

~*~*~
Monday morning Conner walked up to Naomi's door ready to knock on it. Before he could knock Naomi opened her door, "Time to go?" Conner nodded, "Yeah, breakfast is down stairs and so is lunch money." "Great. Bus?" "Yeah, after breakfast I'll show you our bus stop." "Okay." Naomi walked passed Conner and into the kitchen. Well she's just a bucket of sunshine; this will be an interesting twist on life. Conner walked out to the kitchen, Naomi was sitting by the front door, "You ready?" Conner grabbed a poptart, "Yeah, let's go." "Great." The two of them walked out the door and headed for the bus stop.

"So, you'll have to go to the counsellor once we get there, to set up classes." Naomi looked over at Conner as he spoke, "I know. I've done this before." "Oh, you have?" "Yes." "So you don't want to talk about it?" "No." "Do you want to talk about anything?" "You don't have any friends do you?" "Anything else you'd like to talk about." "I'll take that as a no." "Does it matter?" "You talk a lot to people you hardly know, don't seem like the popular type, just making guesses." "Fine then." The bus was at the corner, "Hurry up, Conner." Conner rolled his eyes at Naomi. Oh what a pocket of sunshine.
