Could we just upgrade to VB 4.0 and not 3.something?

Do you know how much time it would take and how much of a drastic change it would be?

We probably won't upgrade to VB 4.0 till it's more stable

VT is a pretty large forum so it takes a lot of effort to upgrade. It would take the tech god, Maverick a while to check everything will work the same or better if we chose to upgrade.
atm though I think 3.8 is Ok: )

vBulletin 4 in its current state is terrible software and I'd consider it irresponsible and reckless to update VT to it.

One of the other forums I'm hate have version 4.
It's relatively nice but sometimes has crashes and login issues...like you'll login (with the correct information) and it says that you entered invalid info. You try again, again, again, again with no luck and then it locks you out for 15 minutes. Then after the times up, you try again and it works...
But the design factors are nice.

If there were any problems with the current version then I'd agree with you, that we'd need to upgrade. There are only the occasional problems though, nothing major that Ant can't fix pretty fast.

I've heard that VB 4 is very unstable and not that great at the moment. Anthony's right. It would be irresponsible to enforce a current, unneeded change under such conditions.
