Well, you'll need to substitute things in there to get the things you need and the right guidance is beneficial. Tofu, Soya and things like that. It might be a good idea to start taking vitamin tablets to make up for the loss of them in the food you'll be eating instead.

im technically not a vegetarian because i do eat chicken or fish like 3-4 times a month
but i do practice a vegetarian diet

it was pretty easy for me because i felt A LOT better and had so much more energy once i stopped eating meat(especially beef)
there is plenty of good vegetarian food out there and i havent had beef and pork in so long that the thought of eating it makes me feel sick

edit: beans and nuts are good for protein and i normally take daily vitamins

Veggie meats are wonderful, have you ever tried any?

Yes, after being meat-free for a long period of time, one will develop sensitivity to even just the thought of eating meat. A few days ago, I accidentally bit into something that contained pork, couldn't spit it out for politeness' sake at a large table with other people, and felt sick for several hours after forcibly swallowing it. It's quite an odd sensation.

If you are someone who eats little meat and dislikes meat products to begin with (I was), it won't be a difficult transition for you personally, although encountering disapproval from parents and the like is not uncommon either. Be prepared to have everyone around you ask why, too - the most common assumption I've encountered has got to be "are you religious or something?"

The greatest inconvenience would probably be when dining with others. Some restaurants out there will have few if not simply no vegetarian dishes, and one may find oneself with few dish choices when eating out and/or in someone's home.

You will become adjusted to everything that comes with the change, though, with time.

Good luck! :)

yes, while it is important to get vegetables the nutrients from meat are also needed!! taking a vitamin daily or eating foods to substitute the nourishment that meat gives isnt a bad idea because you really dont want a vitamin defficiency (or however you spell it) but it means your body doesnt have enough of that vitamin which can have unpleasant results.

to be a vegitarian you must get protein through beans or foods like humus, lots of veggies. yummy :) i used to a vegetarian, now its like i'll eat chicken or seafood on occasion. no its not easy finding foods, and pasta is not something you can consistantly eat without gaining weight...

Depending on how much of a vegetarian, you may eat fish and/or eggs, which can give further options of what to eat. If you're serious about it, you can try buying some vegetarian cook-books or just fine online recipes. I'm not a vegetarian myself but I have some friends who are. Stores usually have soy meat, which has a meat-like taste as well as protein in it.
